Tonino Lamborghini Cuscinetto R Automatic
When Automobili Lamborghini was sold to the Volkswagen Group, the Lamborghini family kept their names. One of the family members is Tonino Lamborghini, who has been a prolific designer since the early 1980s, starting with wearables such as sunglasses, wallets and watches. Today, the men's and namesake brand continues to offer a wide range of watches and other Italian-designed luxury goods. I remember seeing them at watch fairs like Baselworld over the years, but I've never had much of a chance to see their timepieces, which don't always seem to be geared towards watch lovers as they are geared towards the mass consumer market. More recently, however, a new generation of Tonino Lamborghini watches has emerged that is more watch enthusiast oriented. One of them, the Cuscinetto R ("R" stands for racing), is the timepiece I'm going to review today.replica Tonino Lamborghini SPYDER Watches
Like many Italian tools, the Tonino Lamborghini is an extremely expressive machine. The design and its features are designed to grab your attention and create emotion. This is not a product that is just a watch. Instead, the Cuscinetto (which translates to "ball bearing") R watch features a case with skeletonized lugs, a transparent dial, and a truly rotating ball bearing-themed bezel that doubles as a cathartic fidget spinner. According to Tonino Lamborghini, the overall inspiration for the Cuscinetto R came from racing.
The original Tonino Lamborghini Cuscinetto watch did not have this fancy lug construction, but instead had a simpler dial. The Cuscinetto R ups the design ante with an interesting "bridge" lug construction, which is made of titanium like the case. The titanium case is rated at 42mm wide (12mm thick and lug-to-lug distance of approximately 52mm), making it a large and comfortable timepiece. In fact, the overall comfort of the shell is one of the highlights of this product. This case design is not unique to Tonino Lamborghini, but it is not common in the watch industry. Very high-end brands like De Bethune helped popularize it, and it made for a compelling wearing experience. The rotating bezel is an interesting design, with polished steel balls (representing ball bearings) on the black PVD-coated bezel and case.
While the case is unique and interesting, the replica watches for sale is actually sporty. The titanium case of the Cuscinetto R is water-resistant to 100 meters and has an AR-coated flat sapphire crystal above the dial. Another crystal is mounted on the movement, which can be seen. The movement is a simple three-hand Swiss-made Selitta SW200-1 automatic movement with date - more or less equivalent to the ETA 2824-2 automatic movement. The Sw200 runs at 4Hz and has a power reserve of about two days. In this execution, the movement is simple but satisfying, although I wish there were more embellishments on the back of the movement. On the dial side of the watch, a small section of the movement is pearl polished. In my opinion it looks good and I wish all the movement bridges were pearl polished for maximum positive aesthetics. For now, the transparent dial of the Cuscinetto R is still pretty cool, and it executes well for the price of this product.
The dial itself isn't to everyone's taste, but the fine details are easy to appreciate. Around the dial is a sloping flange ring that helps provide more depth and makes the dial feel more like a real musical instrument. The dial is slightly smoky with white Arabic numerals and solid brushed steel hands. Although, as always, in most design instances, I feel that the brand went too far in hollowing out the hands. I can see why they do it this way (for a more cohesive cutout theme), but I find that most of the time cutout hands compromise legibility without appreciably providing any aesthetic enhancement.replica Richard Mille RM 035 Rafael Nadal
Attached to the case is a very nice strap whose design embodies most of the brand's Tonino Lamborghini leather goods side. The tapered shape with bright orange rubber inserts is meant to suggest elegant lines and flashy colors. Tonino Lamborghini also offers a rubber strap for the Cuscinetto R watch - which is probably best for actual sports activities - and the watch can easily be used in this case (like it would be a cool cocktail hour watch Same).
Tonino Lamborghini's mechanical watches are aesthetically distinct from many of the brand's long-standing traditions based on quartz movements. Clearly designed to appeal to seasoned watch collectors, these automatic models are designed and themed more in line with the world of traditional watch collecting than Italian fashion. That said, the concept and form of the Cuscinetto R watch is unmistakably Italian, and you either love it or hate it. I personally find the overall fake men watch design in the pictures a bit odd, but once I put it on my wrist, I really like it. It's not a watch I wear every day, but like a loud pair of shoes or a jacket, everyone needs at least some in their collection.
